impatience

I am so looking forward to my trip to Spain and at the same time am rather apprehensive. I am nervous about my level of Spanish. I can't speak it. I understand it perfectly, but when I try to speak it, more often than not French emerges - or worse, German! I know, I know, it is normal to have such fears about that and in the beginning it will be hard. I just really want to get to the point where I can converse easily and not have to bow my head in shame for not being able to speak the language of three quarters of my heritage.

But this is the whole reason I am doing this. If there is any challenge I love, it is this one. I love the rewards you get for pushing yourself into frightening, and at times humiliating, situations. It will be a wonderful year-long adventure!
